DOWNES, Gerard (Gerry/JJ) (late of Nairobi, Kenya and formerly of Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) – October 26, 2021, suddenly but peacefully, beloved husband of the late Eilis and predeceased by his brother Mark and sister Oula. Cherished father of Fionnuala, Ciarán and Catherine. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Nicola, sister-in-law Mary, his adored grandchildren Lauren, Eoin, Conor, Liam, Cian and Lorna, nephews and their wives, grandnephews and nieces, cousins, extended family and friends, especially his wonderful friends in Kenya. His funeral and cremation took place in Kenya in the presence of close family and friends. A Memorial Mass will take place in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Johnstown, Killiney, Co. Dublin on Tuesday (December 14) at 10.00am followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery, Shankill, Co. Dublin. The Mass may be viewed online at churchservices.tv/johnstownourlady. Family flowers only.
