McGOVERN - Josephine (Jo) (née Smyth), (Sutton, Co Dublin and formerly Co Mayo), March 31, 2020 - Jo’s son, Patrick, and his wife Eileen, Foxrock, Dublin, and Dr. Anne Jennings (USA), wife of Jo’s late son, Dr. Brian A, together with Jo’s cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Richard and Nicola (Ireland) and Caitriona and Deirdre (USA) and her nephews, nieces and other relatives, acknowledge with thanks the many thoughtful and beautiful messages on the occasion of her death on March 31, 2020. She was a much loved wife (of her late husband Philip), mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. Special thanks are due to the Sisters and outstanding staff of Holy Family Residence, Clonskeagh, Dublin, for their exceptional loving care of Jo in her last two years. Particular thanks are also due to Fr. Liam Lacey, Parish Priest, Sutton, for a beautiful, devotional Funeral Mass liturgy under Covid constraints and for his kind pastoral care over many years as well as to our longstanding friends, Fr. Leonard Moloney SJ and Fr. Christopher Clarke OCD (now of Kensington, London), for all their kindness. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for the intentions of all.
