HENNESSY, Professor Thomas PJ, (Tom) Ratoath, Co. Meath. April 9, 2018, in Beaumont Hospital, after a short illness and a long life of service to his profession and patients. Dearly loved husband of Birgitta and the late Maura. He will be so very sadly missed by his wife, children Anne, Lisa, Kathy and Michael, his brother Paddy, sons-in-law Stan, Seán and Robert, daughter-in-law Sarah-Jane, his grandchildren Thomas, Kate, Alexandra, Aoife, Oisín, Sadhbh, Clíodhna, Luke, Rachel, Isabel, Rani and Aria. Also by his stepson, stepdaughter, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. Removal this (Tuesday)evening from Fanagans Funeral Directors, Aungier Street to University Church, St. Stephen’s Green at 7.30 o'clock. Requiem Mass tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 11 o'clock followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny in the afternoon arriving at 3 o'clock approximately. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Father Peter McVerry Trust or the Capuchin Day Centre. Requiescat in pace.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Tom’ passing. He was a remarkable man who meant so much to me as a young medical student and then surgeon. He was a profound influence on my career. He will be sadly missed. John Monson
