BRETT CHURCH - Eva aged 91, (formerly Claremorris, Co. Mayo), widow of Arnold Church, beloved mother of Shauna, John, and Penelope, passed on Friday, August 12, 2022, under the excellent care of the Craftsbury Community Care Center, her Vermont home for the past four years. Eva was predeceased by her parents and beloved brother Hugh Brett. She is survived by her three children, Shauna Church of Brooklyn, New York, John Church of Austin, Texas, and Penelope Doherty of Craftsbury, Vermont; sisters Mary (Eamonn) Murphy of Templecarrig and Dublin, Ireland, and Julie (Brian) Chisholm of Watford, UK; niece and nephews: Paul, Brian, and Rory Murphy of Ireland, Joanna Brett of New York and David Brett of UK, and Phillip and Richard Chisholm of UK; loving cousins and childhood friends, including Imelda Vahey Bush of UK; special “daughters” Patty Schick Gannon of Boston and Deirdre Darrouzet of Austin, TX; and friends and colleagues too numerous to mention. A remembrance service was held on Wednesday, August 31 at Craftsbury Community Care Center. Mass will take place in Church of the Sacred Heart Crossboyne on Saturday, September 17. Eva’s ashes will be interred in Crossboyne Cemetery afterwards. Followed by a Memorial Mass in Austin, TX, on Thursday, October 13. In lieu of flowers.
