<p>MURDOCH, - Brian H. (Rathfarnham, Dublin) December 9th 2020, husband of Winifred (Winnie) and father of Hazel, Peter and Fiona. Grandfather of Amy, Zoe, Niamh, Katie, Lucy and Ruari, father-in-law of Jonathan and Karen. Fondly remembered by his extended family and friends. Sincere thanks to all who cared for Brian while he was at home and more recently in Bloomfield Care Centre. Brian’s family appreciate the kindness and prayerful support we have received. A private family funeral will take place on Saturday 12 December. Personal messages may be left on the Irish Times website. Drop thy still dews of quietness, Till all our strivings cease; Take from our souls the strain and stress, And let our ordered lives confess The beauty of thy peace.</p>

Brian Murdock was an excellent Mathematicia​n with a perfect photographic memory. I always enjoyed my early lunch with Brian in the East Dining Hall. He had a keen interest in Mathematics education of Engineers including his son.
