David, my son Michael and I are so sad to learn of Raphael’s death. David and I had lunch with him at the Hugh Lane Gallery while in Dublin last November. Raphe has been a dear friend for over fifty years, in Dublin and Rome and in far away Montreal. We all appreciated his sense of delight in life and quiet wisdom. We were always impressed by his love of and enjoyment of his family and their holidays together. A good man. I felt privileged to have had him in my life. Eithne Coyle Taylor
