DOWD, (née O'Sullivan) Irene, (Corrydarrigan, Schull, Co. Cork, Goatstown, Dublin and Tralee, Co. Kerry), wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, charity and peace worker. Slipped away peacefully in the presence of all her family and in the wonderful care of the staff at Cúil Dídin Nursing Home, Tralee, December 19, 2018, beloved wife of the late Dick and dear mother of Brian, Fergus, Donal, Cormac, Gráinne and Lorcan. Sadly missed by her loving family, her son-in-law Ray (Mulvihill), daughters-in-law Mary, Helyn, Úna, Mary and Siobhán, brother Philip, thirteen grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and many wonderful friends. Predeceased by her brothers Kevin and Gearóid. Rest in Peace. Reposing at her residence Goirtín na Lachan, Corrydarrigan, Schull today (Friday) from 10 to 12 noon. Funeral arriving to St. Mary’s Church, Schull on Friday for Requiem Mass at 2 pm. Cremation tomorrow (Saturday) at 2.30 pm in Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin. Donations in lieu of flowers, to the Irish Cancer Society, C/o the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee.
