McMAHON, Dr. Ruth Anne, (Rathfarnham, Dublin), January 14, 2017, (peacefully) at St. Vincents Hospital. She will be very deeply missed by her adoring husband Keith (Murphy), her parents Paul and Elizabeth, her sisters Brigid and Aideen, nephew Philip, brother-in-law Eamonn, by the Murphy family and all her extended family and friends. Rest in Peace. A Funeral Service will take place in the Victorian Chapel at Mount Jerome Crematorium at 2.30 o'c tomorrow (Tuesday). Family flowers only. Donations please to the Centre for Colorectal Disease, S.V.U.H.

I was very sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. She was my first doctoral student, and was a genuinely nice person with an inquisitive mind. My condolences to her husband and family. Mark Voigt

So sorry to hear this dreadful news, Ruth kindly met with me a few years ago to talk about careers and was so generous and kind to me, I was in Teresians with her. Thinking of her family and friends at this time. Lisa Kilmartin
