O'BRIEN, Sister Deirdre rscj. (Society of the Sacred Heart, Cedar House, 35 Mount Anville Park, Dublin 14) March 5, 2021, peacefully, in the loving care of the staff of Cedar House Nursing Home; deeply regretted by her niece Beppi O’Connor, cousin Maeve O’Reilly, extended family, her religious communities, friends in Ireland, Scotland, China, the Philippines and Vietnam. Rest in peace. Due to current Government/HSE advice on public gatherings, a private funeral service will take place tomorrow (Wednesday), which can be viewed live at 10am on the following parish web cam; www.mountmerrionparish.ie Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to recent restrictions cannot, are invited to leave a message in the ‘Condolence Section’ on www.irishtimes.com

I worked with alongside Deirdre in Changzhi. We lost touch - which is on me -and which I deeply regret. You were so strong, so caring, so kind, so faithful....and you made GREAT soup and soda bread xxxxx. You were a great mentor and a dear friend, I love you Deirdre xx
