SWANTON, Dr. Brian, age fifty-three, (Somerset, UK. formerly of Mount Merrion, Dublin), July 2, 2019. Peacefully, following a sudden illness, at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Lucy and loving father of Conor. Sadly missed by his brothers Ian, Victor and David, mother-in-law Rosemary, brother- in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and extended family and friends. Funeral Service will be held in Lovington, Somerset on Tuesday, July 16, at 12.00 noon. Followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.May he Rest in Peace

Brian Swanton was my consultant in my first job in the UK . I came to know of his demise only today . He was very kind and had a great sense of humour. I am deeply saddened .RIP Brian.

Oh Brian. I just cannot comprehend what has happened. I always saw you on a Wednesday at school drop off and again in the afternoon. Arty and Conor were always the last ones on the climbing frame. You are sorely missed.

I played cricket with Brian in CYM in the early 80’s. An excellent wicket-​keeper, he was a really super guy and great fun. I remember he could solve the Rubik Cube in 10 seconds! I was very sorry to hear of his passing. Paul Farrell
