LAFFEY Ted (Irishtown, Mountmellick, Laois) July, aged sixty-two. July 7, 2019. Former Principal of Scoil Bhríde Knockmay, Portlaoise and former teacher in Sacret Heart B.N.S, Ballygall, Dublin 11. Ted passed away very peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ted is survived by his best friend and wife Mary, loving sisters Anne and Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, many friends and colleagues. An Ecumenical funeral liturgy will be held in St. Joesph's Church, Mountmellick at 11.00 o'clock this (Tuesday) morning followed by private cremation. No flowers by request. Donations, if desired to Laois Home Care. House strictly private.May he Rest in Peace
LAFFEY Ted, (Mountmellick, Co. Laois) - On Ted's First Anniversary, Mary together with family and close friends remember Ted with love and sadness. We would like to thank our wonderful family and friends who travelled from Ireland and abroad to be here with us for the funeral service. To Ted's former colleagues from Ballygall NS, colleagues past and present from Scoile Bhride NS. Knockmay, Portlaoise who provided the guard of honours, such a fitting tribute to Ted, retired Principal. We would like to thank all who sent messages of condolence, mass cards, sympathy cards and letters, all of which were very comforting. A special word of thanks to Professor John Reynolds, Dr. Sinead Cuffe, Dr. Moya Cunnigham and all the oncology team in St James hospital for their wonderful care and kindness throughout Ted's illness. A very special thank you to Laois Palliative Care Team and Mountmellick HSE Primary Care team who made it possible for Ted to die peacefully with dignity at home in the gentle loving care of family and close friends. Thank you to Mc Elwee's Pharmacy who provided a wonderful service and support to us over the years. To Rev. Paul Fitzpatrick, Ted's loyal friend who lead the ecumenical service along with Fr. Mícheál Murphy, PP to John Moloney, Funeral Undertakers for their kindness and professionalism. A special word of thanks to all who supported us in so many ways during Ted's illness and who continue to support us. Your continued friendship, love and kindness means so very much and is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Let us not look
