CONNAUGHTON, Maureen (née Monaghan) (Meanus, Kilrickle, Loughrea, Co. Galway) - June 1, 2014, peacefully after a short illness, at UCH Galway in the company of her loving family. Dearly loved wife of the late John, mother of John (Portlaoise), Mary (Drogheda), Michael (Cappatagle), Patrick (Kilrickle) and Fred (Mallow, Cork), sister of Katie Duane, mother-in-law of Anna (Gullane, Portlaoise), Bridget (Cappatagle), Paul and Emer, grandmother to Shane, David, Ian, Moira, Paula, John, Amy, Tom, great-grandmother to Lucie. Maureen will be greatly missed by her family, grandchildren and great-grandchild, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law Gertie, Frank, Sharon, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Reposing at Spain's Funeral Home, Main Street, Ballinasloe today, Tuesday from 4.30pm with removal to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kilrickle at 8.00pm. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Wednesday at 12 noon. Burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.May her gentle soul rest in peace.
CONNAUGHTON Maureen (Meanus, Kilrickle, Loughrea, Co. Galway) Died June 1, 2014. On this the First Anniversary of Maureen's death, her daughter Mary, sons John, Michael, Patrick, Fred and their families and her sister Katie, wish to express our sincere thanks to all who sympathised with us on the death of our beloved mother Maureen. We acknowledge with gratitude everyone who travelled long distances, attended the removal, funeral Mass and burial. Our grateful thanks to all who sent Mass cards, messages of condolence and floral tributes. Heartfelt thanks to our extended family, neighbours and friends for their kindness and support. We would like to extend our gratitude to Bishop John Kirby, Monsignors Cathal Geraghty and Edward Stankard and Fr. Sweeney for the beautiful funeral Mass. A special thanks to the Mass servers and Valerie Seale for the hymns and music. We wish to thank the staff on St. Finbar's Ward and ICU at UCHG. A special thanks to Dr. John Flaherty and his colleagues, and the staff at Killian's pharmacy who were always so caring and kind to Maureen. A special thank you to Keith Spain and staff of Dignity Funeral Care for their kindness and help, and to the gravediggers for preparing Maureen's final resting place. We would like to thank Tomas and Caroline and all their staff at Gullane's Hotel for all their kindness, support and for catering at the removal and after the funeral. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually we hope this Acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere gratitude and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Anniversary Mass for Maureen will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Kilrickle on Saturday June 6, at 8.00pm.Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.
