KING, Dr. Geoff, (late of The Coppins, Barrettstown, Naas, Co. Kildare and formerly Cairns, Australia) (First Anniversary) - On the day of the First Anniversary of Geoff's passing, we, his wife Hannah and children Roísín, Cormac and Finnian wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who supported us during Geoff's illness and at the time of our heartbreaking loss. A special thanks to our family in Ireland and to Geoff's Australian family who travelled from Australia several times during his year of illness to be with us and support us in so many ways. Our deep appreciation to Mary for your kindness and care to all of us especially during Geoff's illness and in the past year when it was most needed. To Dr. John Kehoe, Geoff's friend and GP who provided constant care and friendship during Geoff's illness, during his final days and who continues to support us in so many ways. To Rosanne who was our constant rock throughout the year and right to the end, we can never thank you enough. To Mr. John Thornhill, Dr. Ray McDermott, Dr. Paul Murphy, Dr. Gerard McVey, Mary Quinn and all the wonderful and caring staff of St. Vincent's Private Hospital a sincere thanks for all your care and attention during Geoff's illness. To Fr. Ruairi O Domhnaill for his many visits to our family home during Geoff's illness and for celebrating Geoff's life in the memorable Funeral Mass together with Fr. Larry and Fr. Joe so beautifully accompanied by Liz and Nicola and to all others who contributed to it. To all who travelled long distances to be with us, all who called to the house, attended Requiem Mass and burial afterwards in Barrettstown Cemetery. To all who sent cards, letters and shared their many memories of Geoff with us and those who made donations to the Irish Cancer Society. To all our amazing friends, neighbours and to Barry and all Geoff's work colleagues in The Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council and KDOC who helped and sustained us during that heartbreaking time and continue to provide unending support in so many ways. To the sports clubs, schools, medical and emergency services who organised and participated in the guards of honour at the Church and Cemetery. To the Principal and staff of the children's schools Gaelscoil Nás ná Ríogh and Newbridge College who have supported us during and since Geoff's passing. To Paul and Hazel O'Neill our Funeral Directors who managed the most difficult days with professionalism and sensitivity. Geoff was a unique and generous man who gave us all a wonderful sense of wellbeing and enriched the lives of everybody he met through his endless positivity, goodness, selflessness, kindness and guidance. He is so sadly missed, but treasured in our hearts forever. While it is not possible to thank everyone individually, we truly hope that this acknowledgement will show you our genuine appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Geoff's First Anniversary Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady and Saint Joseph's Church, Caragh this evening, Saturday 29th August, 2015 at 6.30pm.
