GILLIGAN, F. W. Peter – July 8, 2024 at home peacefully in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Dearly loved husband of Julie and adored father of David and Ruth. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Sophie and Niamh, brother Paul, sisters-in-law Mary and Catherine, brother-in-law Martin, as well as many other family members. He will be remembered fondly by lifelong friends at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club, where he served as president from 2002 to 2004, and was a member for over 60 years. He – and his excellent selection of hats - touched many lives with his kind heart, great wit and dedication to the community via his work for the Society of the St. Vincent de Paul. Reposing at his home today (Thursday), from 5.00pm to 7.00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow (Friday), at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, Booterstown Avenue at 1.00pm followed by burial at Glasnevin Cemetery. No flowers, please, donations in lieu to the Society of the St. Vincent de Paul.
