DEACON, John (Rev), Creagh, Gorey, Co. Wexford - December 24, 2014. (peacefully at his Residence). Beloved husband of Hazel and dear father of Helen and Wendy. Sadly missed by his wife, daughters, granddaughters, brother, sisters, sons-in-law, relatives and friends. Removal from his Residence tomorrow (Sunday) to Christ Church Gorey for Service at 2 o'clock followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family Flowers only please."At Rest"

<p>A memory from yesteryear</p> Forty years ago I met John. It was a very wet Sunday and we were caravaning. John was preaching at the nearby C of I Chuch close to Fethard on Sea. He came back with me and we had a sandwich. He was a very nice person and I was pleased to learn later that he had been ordained. My thoughts are with you all and with Tom who is a colleague in the Methodist Ministry. The memory of that one occasionc I will never forget. 2 Cor 5 v 8 Jim Rea
