I am so sorry to only recently hear of Muireann's passing. Muireann was an outstanding Lecturer. She brought the early Irish Literature to life, in her classes, where I studied in Maynooth. She was an all round good person,so encouraging.

Fantastically inspiring as both a lecturer and woman. Kindhearted, intelligent, quick-witted bubbily humour and firey activist. I measc laochra na nGael go raibh a hanam dilis.

Passionate and sincere in her love of Irish Culture

What a shock and what a huge loss to this nation! My condolences to all Muireann's family and close friends. What a wonderful person! So warm and honest and full of integrity. She was a humble, inspiring, passionate eloquent, and brave warrior in the protection of the uniqueness of Irish culture and Heritage. She put her career on the line for that protection and rose above everyone else in her efforts to save and show her love for Tara. While those in politics increasingly show their underlying desire to homogenise and dilute Irish culture and language, Muireann always made them look like fools. This country needs many more like her! I'm sure wherever she is she will still have influence. We will miss you, and we wish you a good journey!
