HARPER - Conor SJ, Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Milltown Park, and formerly of Belvedere College, Clongowes Wood College, and the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook), Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Blessed John Sullivan SJ.

We, Conor’s family, Joan, Toni, Neil, Judy and Aine, sister-in-law Eleanor, brother-in-law Paul, nieces and nephews would like to convey our heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported and sympathised with us on the death of our brother. Conor would have celebrated his 80th birthday on 30 November 2024.

To those who attended Conor’s Reposing in Cherryfield Nursing Home, his Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook, and burial in Clongowes Wood College, thank you most sincerely. To those who travelled long distances, sent cards, letters of condolence, text messages, emails, telephone calls and all the thoughtful messages on RIP.ie which have provided great comfort to us, thank you.

We wish to thank Fr Bruce Bradley SJ, Fr Tom Casey SJ, Rector and the Jesuit community, Milltown Park, along with Fr Shane Daly SJ, Provincial, and the wider Jesuit community; Parish Priest Monsignor Ciarán O'Carroll and the Donnybrook parish community; Archbishop Michael Jackson; the French Ambassador M. Vincent Guerend; Prof. Alan Watson and Mr Rory O'Hanlon and the medical teams in SVUH and the Blackrock Clinic; Mary Rickard, Rachel McNeill and the wonderfully caring and supportive team at Cherryfield Lodge Nursing Home, for their kindness and medical care given to Conor; Terri Wynne and Eileen Kavanagh, who provided the beautiful music at his funeral; Fanagan's Funeral Undertakers, for their professionalism and understanding (it was appropriate that Rocky should drive Conor on his final journey); the students representing Belvedere College, Clongowes Wood College and Enniskillen Royal Grammar School, who attended the Requiem Mass; the students of Clongowes who formed a guard of honour on arrival of the cortege there, a gesture he would have greatly appreciated; Fr Michael Sheil SJ, Rector of Clongowes for hosting lunch after Conor's interment; Fr Denis Hooper OSB of Glenstal Abbey, friend and former neighbour of Leinster Road; Conor's wonderful and loyal former students and friends from Belvedere and Clongowes; and so many others.

Conor, being the person that he was, had a large circle of life long and loyal friends in Ireland, France and indeed globally.

He will be greatly missed and although we are sad we take solace that he is enjoying eternal rest with all those he loved and who have gone before him.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this Acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation for the enormous support and kindness shown to us. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
