GOWING (Kinnitty, Co. Offaly) - we the family of the late Catherine Gowing (B.Sc., Dr.V.M., MRCVS.), who died tragically in Mold, North Wales, October 13, 2012, would like to thank most sincerely our extended family, neighbours and many friends who sympathised with us and helped support us since the loss of our beloved Catherine. Sincere thanks to all who attended the reposal at Kinnitty Church, Requiem Mass and Burial; her school-friends who formed the funeral cortege through the village; Rita & choir, undertaker Mr. Patsy McGuinness for his sensitivity and professionalism, the gravediggers, all who helped with refreshments in the village hall and the County Arms Hotel, Birr and anyone who helped in any way with the funeral arrangements. Our sincere thanks to Bishop Kieran O'Reilly, Bishop Willie Walsh and all the concelebrating clergy (some of whom travelled long distances) who officiated at the Requiem Mass. Special thanks to our wonderful parish priest Fr. Michael O'Meara for his constant support and also Fr. Eamon O'Gorman. We express our warmest gratitude to those who travelled distances, both near and far, telephoned, called to the house, sent Mass cards, letters of sympathy. Our sincere thanks to the North Wales Police and their support teams, whose kindness, sensitivity and professionalism at all times, has been so appreciated. We shall be forever grateful. Some of their representatives journeyed to pay their respects at the funeral; as did many of Catherine's friends from the veterinary practice in Wales. Thanks also to her former college friends & lecturers from DCU; her former work colleagues from the pharmaceutical companies Elan, Antigen and Organon; and many of her former classmates from the Veterinary College in Budapest. In addition, sincere thanks to the Irish students in Budapest who organised a special memorial service for Catherine. As did her friends in Buckley, North Wales (held last May). Finally, to those of you whom we have never met, you will never realise just how much your cards and letters of sympathy (that still continue to arrive) have meant to our family. Your prayers and kind thoughts continue to support us through our darkest of days. Since it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a sincere token of our appreciation. Your kindness and support will always be remembered."Those we Love remain with us,
for Love itself lives on."
GOWING Catherine (First Anniversary - October 13, 2012) - (Kinnitty, Co. Offaly) Sadly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. See acknowledgement.
