MEEHAN (née Shiel) (Phibsboro and formerly of Cornelscourt) - September 6, 2018, (peacefully), after a long illness, at St Mary's Residential Care Centre, Galway, Sylvia, beloved wife of the late Denis and dear mother of John, Níall, Sarah, Richard and Rosa; sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, brother Raymond, sister Rosa, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren Muireann, Patrick, Michael, Gemma, Cormac, Grace and Denis, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing on Sunday from 2.00 o'c to 8.00 o'c at her home in Phibsboro. Removal on Monday to Mount Jerome Crematorium Chapel arriving for 10.00 o'c Service. Funeral immediately afterwards to Deansgrange Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Rape Crisis Centre. MEEHAN, Sylvia (Phibsboro and formerly of Cornelscourt) - On the First Anniversary of Sylvia's death, September 6, 2018, we her children John, Niall, Sarah, Richard and Rosa, our partners Noreen, Ann, Kevin, Sari and Declan and Sylvia's cherished grandchildren Muireann, Patrick, Michael, Cormac, Grace, Gemma and Denis, wish to extend our sincerest thanks to all of those who were so supportive and kind during Sylvia's illness, a special thanks to Patricia and Frank Conlon; to all who attended the wake and funeral, especially those who travelled , President Michael D Higgins and Sabina Higgins; to Susie Kennedy, celebrant, who made the funeral so special and Marian McEvoy for her singing at the graveside: to all who sent lovely messages, letters and cards; each of which were a great source of comfort to us. We especially thank the staff of St. Marys Residential Care Centre in Galway for the outstanding care, attention and kindness shown to Sylvia and also to us as a family. We will always miss Sylvia's humour and indomitable spirit and humanitarianism, as will all who knew her. As it is impossible to name so many, please accept this Acknowledgement as an expression of our sincere and heartfelt gratitude.
