CARR - The death has occurred of Dr. Conor Carr, aged 90 years, on the 30th January, 2025. A much-loved and respected obstetrician who dedicated over 40 years to the compassionate care of his patients, with 30 of those years spent at Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe.

He was a past president of the Connacht Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), Ballinasloe RFC, Ballinasloe Golf Club and served as President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and spent many years volunteering in St Vincent de Paul.

He is deeply mourned by Audrey, his wife of 65 years, children Nick, Fiona, Clare, Anne, and Stephen, and their partners Paul, Mac, Hiang and Phol, as well as his 11 cherished grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Dr. Carr will be fondly remembered by all his family, colleagues, former patients, and the wider community for his exceptional contributions throughout his long life and distinguished career.

Reposing in Grenham's Funeral Home (H53HK15) on today (Saturday) 1st February from 2o'clock to 4o'clock. Funeral Mass at 12o'clock on tomorrow (Sunday) in St. Michael's Church Ballinasloe, which may be viewed via live stream on https://www.churchservices.tv/ballinasloe. Private cremation service for Conor will take place.
