GALLAGHER - Colm - 28th April 2026. Peacefully at CareChoice, Malahide Road. Portmarnock, formerly of Whitehall, Dublin and many childhood summers in Gweedore, Donegal. Beloved husband of 51 years of Eithne, much loved father to Caoilfhionn and Elle and brother of the late Seán Gallagher. Colm will be hugely missed by his family including his grandchildren Síomha, Oisín and Daithí, his son-in-law Tom, his sisters-in-law Noelle, Ann and Josephine, brother-in-law Dónal, their spouses Paddy, Inge and Michael and his late brother-in-law Brians wife, Barbara, his Gallagher nieces and nephews, Niamh, John, Hugh, Aifric and their families, all his in-laws, nieces and nephews in the Coyle and Fitzmaurice families, his Gillanders and McGuinness cousins, his extended family, wonderful neighbours, his former colleagues at the Department of Public Service and the Department of Finance, his friends from UCD, numismatic circles and beyond. The family expresses their deep appreciation to all those who cared for Colm in recent years at CareChoice and Beaumont Hospital. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired to the National Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation or the Society of St Vincent de Paul. Colm will be reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock on Thursday afternoon 30th April from 2pm to 4pm.
A Service will take place in Glasnevin Crematorium Chapel on Friday 1st May at 1.30pm. On Saturday 2nd of May from 2.30 - 5.30pm there will be a celebration of Colm's life at MOLI (Museum of Literature Ireland) , 86 St Stephen's Green , Dublin 2. (Dress code for Saturday is no black at family request)
