Maureen also lived with us in Inkpen (near Hungerford, England) for a few years before she moved to Rome, and wrote a play that was aired on BBC radio... lovely lady.

A great inspiration
Hello Frances, Kieran, Harry I am so sorry to hear about your mother. She was such a great person, and if my mother were alive I am sure she would acknowledge what a truly great friend she was too. I still vividly recall Maureen showing me her typewriter in your home in Douglas and explaining how she edited her work by cutting and pasting, back in the days before any kind of electronic means of doing that. She was the only real writer I knew growing up and was always kind to me as I tried to become one too. I see her books are still out there, so she has achieved the immortality all writers crave! I hope her final days were peaceful and wil always have great memories of all my time with the Donegans. May she rest in peace, Sean Kenny

Maureen was a true friend

Mary and Brendan and their family in the USA would like to extend our love and sympathy to Maureen's children and grandchildren. She was a good friend to us. We remember fondly the many times she welcomed to us to Palaceanne and to her home in Rome. Maureen was a warm, loving, generous caring and talented lady. So sad she had to leave us so soon.
