Funeral Service at 12 noon on Wednesday next ( October 16) in St. Philip and St. James Church, Cross Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematorium. Donations if desired to Blackrock Hospice.

<p>A very great loss</p> <p>When I was in Dublin just over a year ago I had lunch with Charles and he told me that he had recently been diagnosed with cancer. Charles very generously shared his family history records with our Meredith history group, including participating in our DNA study, allowing us to confirm the connections between the Dublin and the Laois Meredith families. Charles was truly a gentleman of the old school, demonstrating a level of courtesy and thoughtfulness that is all too rare these days. He will be greatly missed by all of us who were privileged to know him.</p>
