O'BRIEN, Máire (Mill Street, Galway, formerly Glasnevin and Church Street, Dublin). 18 December, 2023 in the loving care of the wonderful staff at Galway Hospice following an illness borne with great strength and good humour. Dearly beloved and loving Mother of Úna, John, Tim, Des, Deirdre and the late infant Conor, and doting grandmother of Ria. Deeply mourned and very sadly missed by her children, their partners Gerry, Kulveer, Emilia, Karlita and Jamie, all of whom she loved and who loved her very much, her beloved sisters Anne, Margaret and Eleanor and her sister-in-law Angela. Predeceased by her darling brother, Donal. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, extended family and her many friends and neighbours. Reposing at the O'Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) today (Thursday) 21 December from 2pm to 3pm. Cremation will take place at Glasnevin Crematorium on tomorrow (Friday) 22 December at 1 p.m. No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a contribution in Máire's memory are encouraged to consider donating to The Galway Hospice. Devastated by the loss of such a wonderful and loving friend. My condolences to all her family. Irreplaceable, my chosen "Auntie", forever loved and remembered. Sadly missed.
