MOONEY, Monsignor Míceál Patrick

MOONEY - Monsignor Míceál Patrick passed away peacefully on 10th April in the care of the staff of the Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola Florida and was lovingly surrounded by his close friends. Predeceased by his parents, Bridget and Michael and his two sisters, Bernadette and Dorothy. Deeply regretted by his nephew, Fintan and his wife Helen, niece, Ciara and her husband Stephen, grandnieces and grandnephews, Sadhbh, Méabh, Cathal, Seán and Niall.

Born in Dublin on the 4th March 1937, Msgr Mooney was ordained into the priesthood in June 1963 at St. Particks College Seminary, Carlow and moved to the USA where he served in the Diocese of Pensacola, Tallahassee, Archdiocese of Mobile and the Diocese of St Augustine. Msgr Mooney will be warmly remembered by his friends and parishioners in the parishes and dioceses in which he served.

May he rest in peace. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday 5th May at 10 oclock in the Church of St Vincent De Paul, Griffith Avenue, Marino, Dublin 9, with burial afterwards in Dardistown Cemetery.
