HERON, Dermod L. (Raheny), April 23, 2020, (ex Dublin Port), peacefully in his ninety-fourth year, in the tender care of Clontarf Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Carmel (née Gavin), loving father to Derry, Brian, Una, Patricia and Barry. Remembered with love by his grandchildren, Derry, Brian, Daniel, Katy, Niamh, Gavin, Cian, Joe and Connor, his sister Moira, brother Muiris, daughters-in-law Kathryn, Penny and Veronica, son-in-law Brian, sisters-in-law Brid and Amelia, brother-in-law Vincent, his beloved nieces and nephews, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Predeceased by his brother Brian and sisters Kathleen and Nuala. In keeping with current government guidelines regarding public gatherings, Dermod’s funeral will be private. A Mass will be held at a later date to celebrate his life. “I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.”
