WINKELMANN, (née Aldritt) Carmel Elizabeth (L) Legend HRH (Glenageary, Co. Dublin) June 12, 2021. Peacefully, in her 93rd year, in the wonderful care of the ICU staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital and at home by her friend Dolores. Mother, mentor and motivator to many in the sailing community. Carmel was dearly loved wife of the late Franz, beloved mother to Paul, Lucy and Adam, devoted Oma to Curtis, Suzanna, Gillian and Chloe. Dear mother-in-law of David, Roisin and Ciara. She will be greatly missed by her sister Olive; by Blanka and Karl and their families, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews, extended family and friends. Gone to join her beloved husband and grandchildren Ailbhe and Shane in heaven. Due to the Government restrictions, a family funeral will take a place privately but can be viewed at 10.00am on Friday (June 18) using the following link: https://vimeo.com/event/153499. As a mark of respect, the funeral cortège will be passing the yacht clubs in Dun Laoghaire on Friday morning at 9.00am.
