DOOLAN - The death has occurred of Professor James Doolan, (former Senator), (Kingston, Galway City) - September 11, 2025, peacefully, in the loving care of his family after a short illness. He is predeceased, by his parents Patrick and Lelia Doolan, his sisters Ann (Gallagher) and Mary (Colley). He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Caroline (Lane Doolan), his sister Lelia, brothers, Patrick and Matt. He will be mourned by his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends and colleagues at University of Galway, The Oireachtas and the World Bank. Family flowers only. House Private. Reposing at the Corless Funeral Home, Kinvara, H91 VN8X, today (Monday) September 15, from 5:00 p.m. with removal at 7:00 p.m. to St. Colman's Church, Ballinderreen, H91 N611. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on tomorrow (Tuesday), September 16, followed by interment in Drumacoo Cemetery The Mass will be live- streamed on the Ballinderreen and Kinvara parishes Facebook page.
