RYAN - (née Kennedy), Noreen. Old Church, North Circular Road, Limerick (previously Clouncagh, Ballingarry, Co Limerick). Peacefully, in the care of Foxrock Nursing Home, Dublin, on November 4, 2026. Beloved wife of late Michael and dearest Mother of Lisa, the late Susan and Gordon. Deeply mourned by her loving children, sons-in-law Max and James, daughter-in-law Avril, grandchildren Jemima, Zach, Harry, George, Jeremy, Ben, Abigail and Isabelle, sister Rose (predeceased by her siblings Maura and William), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at Griffin’s Funeral Home, John’s Gate on today (Friday), November 6, from 5pm to 6.30pm. Funeral arriving to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ennis Road on tomorrow (Saturday), November 7, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Adare. Messages of sympathy may be conveyed through Griffin’s Funeral Home.

HAMILTON - William (November 6, 2025) On this, William’s First Anniversary, Maeve, Ruth and Julie would like to thank you sincerely for all the love and support that has been shown to us over the last year. We wish to thank everyone who attended the Funeral, sent messages, cards, flowers, food and provided sympathy and comfort in so many ways. A special thanks to Monsignor Ciaran O’Carroll for the beautiful Mass and to Jody Fanagan, of Fanagan Funeral Directors, for his kindness and sensitivity in difficult circumstances. To all of William’s friends, in particular his school, college, golf and fishing friends and his colleagues at the Bar, the love that we have felt for William, whilst bittersweet, has been a huge comfort to us. It is impossible to thank everyone individually, so please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Mass will be offered for your intentions. William will be forever loved and deeply missed.

CULLEN - Mary (Third Anniversary) Remembered with love by all the family.

McSORLEY - The death has occurred of Monsignor Gerard McSorley, P.E., retired Parish Priest of Tullycorbet, Co. Monaghan, and formerly of Newtownsaville, Eskra Co. Tyrone. Peacefully, in the tender loving care of the nursing staff of St. Anne’s Nursing Home, Ballybay, on Tuesday November 3, surrounded by family.

Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Winifred, sister Teresa (Mulligan), brothers Eugene and Brian. Monsignor McSorley will be deeply regretted, and lovingly remembered by his brothers Donal (Omagh) and Michael (Clogher), his sisters-in-law Kathleen and Eilish, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, Bishops and Clergy of the Clogher Diocese, the people of the parishes in which he served and a wide circle of family and friends.

Throughout his many years of dedicated priestly ministry, Monsignor McSorley served in the parishes of Tempo, Clara (Errigal Truagh) and Monaghan / Rackwallace, as well as on the staff of St. Macartan’s College, Monaghan. From 1980 to 1990, he served as Prior of Lough Derg and Parish Priest of Pettigo, before taking up his appointment as Parish Priest of Tullycorbet. May His Gentle Soul Rest in Eternal Peace. Reception Prayers at 4.00pm, on today (Friday) November 6, in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballybay, followed by public repose until Night Prayer at 8.00pm. Monsignor McSorley’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballybay, on tomorrow (Saturday) November 7, at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, please, Donations in lieu, if desired, to St. Patrick’s Church Repair Fund and Cuan Mhuire, Ballybay, care of Ward’s Funeral Home, or via the donation box provided.
